Red Daisy Enamelled Flower Brooch

This brooch is an enamelled painting of a red daisy typed flower on a grey enamelled background. 

Vitreous enamel, copper, silver.

The flower is painted on an enamelled copper base. This base was designed so that one of the leaves of the flower is growing out of the border - it has its own life!

This painting was built up with layers and layers of painting enamel fired in between each layer. Once the enamelling was done a silver setting was made to surround the painting (and specially shaped to surround the leaf) to make it in to the brooch. The back features a double pin made from steel so it keeps its spring.
