Butterfly Necklace with Blue and Green Enamel and Gems on Silver Belcher Chain

Butterfly necklace made from silver with enamel and gemstones. The butterfly has been chased on to the silver with steel chasing tools and the resulting indentations have been packed with vitrous enamels which were fired onto the silver in the kiln.

The pendant measures 3cm x 2.7cm abnd the chain is 58cm (23") long with a handmade hook catch. There are four gemstones hanging from a small loop, a teardrop aquamarine measuring 12 x 8mm, and two small facetted button aquamarines 5mm and a 4mm peridot.

The silver has an oxidised finish which gives it a dark antiqued appearance.
